Parts of a website

Most people who have never worked with websites are a little confused at the "parts" of a full webiste. I have found that this little explanation helps them especially when trying to estimate costs.

• Domain name - the www.yournamehere.com thingy that people type in to go to your webpage (compare this to a home phone number)
• Hosting - this is the place where the files that are created are physically stored. (this would be the house that the phone associated with the above number is physically at)
• Website - what the user sees when they type in your domain name (you - the person that they get when calling the number and you pick up the phone)
